While the fleece used in our Enriched Life products is made of pet-safe materials for appropriate interaction in the habitat, this material is not meant to be chewed or actively consumed. We recommend monitoring your pet closely when you introduce a new item in the habitat to observe his or her behavior.
If you find that your pet is ingesting these materials, we recommend that you discontinue use and consult with your veterinarian to determine enrichment options that better meet your pet’s instincts, needs, and individual personality. It is important to inspect all of your pet's Enriched Life items regularly for signs of wear. If any item shows excessive wear, fraying, or loose fibers, we recommend removing and replacing it with a new item.
If your pet has a strong desire to chew on and ingest non-edible objects, you may find it helpful to attempt to redirect chewing behavior to a more appropriate outlet, such as one of Oxbow's Enriched Life natural chews or Timothy Club products.
