Oxbow Eco-Straw litter is a wheat-based pellet that is safe for chewing and is a compostable, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly litter option for your pet. Small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas will instinctively chew on hard and fibrous materials (just as they would in the wild), but they are not typically inclined to consume these non-nutritional materials. Small amounts of inadvertent ingestion of the product are normal and are not harmful. However, if you notice your animal actively and intentionally eating the product, we recommend removing the litter and consulting with your veterinarian.
