Oxbow Animal Health strives to put forth premium products and this effort extends to our packaging. Unfortunately, the manufacturing process for creating our foods, treats, bedding/litter, and supplements packaging (and many similar packages) utilizes multiple plastic varieties from different recycling classes in order to ensure the stability and quality of the product prior to use. Once these materials are blended, they are no longer able to be separated and recycled at a consumer level. Larger manufacturers do have the ability to recycle this material, which they commonly do.
Please be assured that the packaging materials industry continues to look at improvements to make pouches like ours more recyclable in the future. Serving as good stewards of the environment is very important to us and we will continue to keep the environment in mind as we continuously evaluate all available packaging options.
